FAQ

Are pets allowed?

We refer to ‘pets’ (to include other livestock) but cats and dogs were the main animals in our decision-making process. Our individual garden spaces are unfenced and our site is open to the adjoining roads, so we take the responsibilities of having a pet very seriously. We expect dogs to be well-behaved and controlled in our grounds.

Assistance dogs are, of course, allowed in the common house as that is required by law but ordinary pets are not. We took this decision to balance the needs of those with pets and those without.

We have also agreed to ban pets from our mill pond – much to the relief of the moorhens – and the dogs will be more affected than the cats. We don’t expect the bees or hens (our current ‘livestock’) to be too concerned about this prohibition.
